Works to Grade II listed Cokes Barn to begin on site

June 2016

We are delighted to have been appointed to work on a large two-storey extension and remodelling of a beautiful, grade II listed building in West Burton, Pulborough, West Sussex.

The building was built in the seventeenth century and constructed of Fittleworth stone with dark stained horizontal timber boarding to the north elevation. The roof is half hipped natural slate with tie beams and queen posts.

The proposal seeks to reorientate the existing building by introducing a two-storey extension perpendicular to the existing plan with a small glass link to break between the two. The result of this is twofold, firstly, one can now benefit from the extensive views through the length of the garden. This is achieved both in the new family room at ground floor or under the canopy of the trees in the new bedroom at first floor. Secondly, the kitchen is enlarged and positioned so it becomes the heart of the house with a direct relationship with the courtyard.

With the projects expected completion in December 2016, we are excited to start works on site at the end of this month.
