North Hill Avenue

2014 – 2016

LOCATION – Highgate, North London

PROJECT TYPE – Residential

CLIENT – Private

PROJECT STATUS – Built

An existing three-storey Victorian terrace dwelling, where maximising the narrow plot and rear terrace was achieved through a ground floor refurbishment and rear extension across two levels.

Rooflights within the kitchen were positioned asymmetrically in the space to highlight the texture of the brickwork it sits against, but also to ensure daylight reaches the centre of the plan. When the sliding doors are pulled across, the materiality of the kitchen floor flows seamlessly from inside to out.

The matt, concrete floor tiles along with the internally-exposed London stock brickwork and critall-style doors, coordinate with the furniture, fixtures and fittings to present an industrial aesthetic.
