An existing grade II listed barn in need of refurbishment and substantial structural repair; the project involved converting the existing barn into a single dwelling.
Working with CMF property consultants post-planning, the technical design involved many challenging and considered details to ensure the preservation of the listed barn features as well as maximising the opportunity for a unique dwelling in a beautiful setting.
Interpretation of traditional details in a modern way can be seen throughout the project with an external louvred façade with glazed screen and cantilevered first floors and picture windows internally.
Designed in a way to expose the original frame of the barn, a cathedral ceiling covers the main living space, with new rooflights below the thatched roof bringing in further light from above.
