Florence Rd starts on site

April 2016

Work has begun on site for the complete remodelling of a 1930s bungalow in Walton-upon-Thames. The design by FlowerKittle Architects includes a side and rear extension to the ground floor and the addition of a master bedroom and ensuite to the new roof space. Rooms and circulation spaces are organised around a central stair which provides access to the master bedroom whilst the rear extension reconnects a series of new social/ living spaces with the garden. The brief was carefully formulated to consider the client’s daily routine and way of living, informed by both their aspirations and pragmatic spatial requirements. It was important that the layout was flexible to accommodate their future needs whilst working with the existing fabric to keep the unique qualities of the house they value the most.

The initial ground works and setting out of the rear single-storey extension has been completed and new rooms are beginning to be formed within the shell of the existing bungalow. We will keep you updated with more photos as work progresses…
